There’s one thing I need to remember on my next destination beach wedding…a BATHING SUIT! I began the day by shooting Jeremiah and his buddies kicking the ball around on the beach. 15 min later, the boys decided to give Jeremiah a nice dunking so I of course followed closely. As they were throwing him in, this massive wave came up on us and my pants got entirely drenched. Bad enough that my camera case got completely destroyed a few months back from this very same beach, but now I was completely soaked and only just beginning my day with this wedding. Luckily the hotel had a few hair dryers handy so I was nice and dry about 30 min later. Oh….and I got the shot. ;)

Steph is a great friend of mine who I met while living in Shanghai. She is one of the most genuine, kindhearted, and sincere person that I know and it was an amazing honor to shoot her wedding. Congrats again to both you and Jeremiah, I hope to see the both of you guys real soon.

Add one apple orchard, one corn field, one muddy flower field and one electric fence and you get an amazing engagement shoot. I wasn’t kidding about the electric fence either. All three of us had to do some crazy maneuvering in order to get to this amazing field. You can’t tell from the photos but the field was just a giant mud pit. Luckily the photos turned out awesome!

Koh Samui Day 2

Here’s Day 2 of Connie and Alex’s Koh Samui destination wedding. The day’s schedule was quite busy as we had a Thai wedding ceremony to go along with the western style wedding. The funny thing is that neither Connie or Alex has any Thai heritage but decided to go along with the ceremony since they were in Thailand. Enjoy the photos! :)

Koh Samui Day 1

Connie and Alex graciously invited me to travel along with them to Koh Samui from Hong Kong on a private leer jet. Private jet to Koh Samui you say? Fineeeee…I’ll slum it this time, but only for you guys. ;)

There were so many amazing photos to choose from on this shoot that I had trouble deciding on what I wanted to post here without going overboard. I’ll be splitting the shoot with Day 1 (pre-wedding) and Day 2 (wedding day) albums to make it easier for you guys to view. I can’t wait to get back to Samui…such an amazing place. :)

Maldives Wedding Part 2

Here’s part 2 from my Maldives wedding shoot at Six Senses Resort. We ended up shooting the wedding at 12 noon on this sand bank about a 10 min boat ride from the resort. There was literally nothing but sun, sand and water at the location…no shade anywhere! Needless to say, we were all pretty cooked by the time the ceremony was finished. I’m pretty sure we all lost about 5 kilos of water weight just from sweating. I felt bad for all the guys in full suits…at least the girls had light dresses :P

In any case, the photos turned out amazing considering the harsh conditions. Click here if you missed part 1.

Family shoot with Jaayda

Another amazing Vancouver day in Vancouver. I had the chance to hang out with Maili and Jaayda for a bit before Keith finally made it down from work. One thing about Jaayda is that she does not stop moving…ever. I must have gotten 1 sharp photo for every 30 blurry ones. I finally figured out that my lens caps would distract her long enough to shoot a few beauties. In the end though, the little hair ball was tons of fun and we had a great afternoon.

Vivien and Leon

I’ve got a fun post for you guys! Vivien and Leon is this fun loving couple from Vancouver (yep…my hometown) and decided on having an autumn engagement shoot. We were lucky enough to have the sun come out and even luckier in finding an amazing leaf pile in Stanley Park. So what does one do when one finds a giant leaf pile? Yeeeeeep…we have a leaf fight! Both Viv and Leon were great in getting down and dirty and had no problems whatsoever with going a little nuts. I think I was getting a little dizzy with running after these two. :)

Insa and Max

Insa and I are old college friends so when she contacted me about shooting her wedding, I was obviously thrilled. The best part was that a lot of our mutual friends went as well so it acted as a mini vacation for all of us.

Insa is one of those sporty girls who is generally always up for anything. Even on the day of the wedding Insa was Para-sailing, Jetskiing, Banana boating…while Max was uh, no where to be found. Granted, Max had a separated shoulder and couldn’t really play any sports…sooo, we’ll let him off hook. ;)

We all stayed at the Conrad in Bali which has this amazing infinity chapel. The Chapel sits a top this water pond that overlooks the ocean and has this amazing light that shines through it. I honestly wish I could shoot here more often.

Funny story about the Chapel. Initially, I started shooting the dress outside on the water path. As I was setting up my camera…this huge gust of wind came out of nowhere and blew the dress towards the edge of the path. I literally dropped my camera and DOVE for the dress to save the entire stand/dress/everything from going into the water. Let’s just say my that my heart was pumping for a good 20 min after that.

If you’re looking to have a destination wedding in Bali, definitely think of the Conrad and the Infinity Chapel as a possible option. I think I enjoyed shooting there more than Bvlgari. :)

Juliana and Frank

Shannon and Alex

When Alex first contacted me about shooting his wedding a while ago, I immediately jumped at the chance. I was excited to shoot this wedding for a number of reasons. 1) Shannon is stunner! 2) Alex, who’s also a fellow wedding photographer, is a friend of mine. But most importantly….3) Alex is a real ninja. I’m serious! In my mind I was already thinking up some crazy stuff for Alex to do. Maybe some high level upside down scissor kick while looking down at Shannon…or some nunchuck action against his fellow ninja groomsmen. Alas, in the end we just played around with some swords and watched the rest of his ninja skills on the tv screen during the reception. At least I got him to fly though…scroll down to see.
